I SPENT many happy years in Enfield, Co Meath, where I was brought up by my parents Barney and Mona. I have two brothers, David and Gordon and one sister, Helen. We enjoyed the freedom of living on a farm, riding ponies, competing in the Pony Club and hunting. My parents drove us all around the country to events and shows, off we went for the day with a large picnic as Mum was well known for her homemade fare.

Secondary school in Wesley College, Dublin curtailed our exploits somewhat, however we still managed some trips away with David, as he made many Irish teams. Having travelled the world eventing, we lost him at an event a couple of miles from home in 1998. I have been blessed with three great kids: Roger, Keith and Melanie.
