UTHOPIA, Carl Hester’s gold winning Olympic mount is to be sold at public auction on Friday, May 27th, 2016.

Yesterday evening, Hester made the following statement on his official Facebook page: "Many of you will have read the sad news that Uthopia will go to auction due to the unresolved dispute over his ownership. We are working hard to find a solution so he can spend his retirement here at home.

Thanks to everyone who has shown their support, it is really appreciated."

A GoFundME page entitled 'Keep Uthopia home with Carl Hester!' has been set up and calls made to form a consortium, to buy Uthopia when he is sold at auction next month.

Uthopia will be sold as part of Wilsons Auctions Prestige Auction, where there will be no reserve. Online bidding will be available and further details will be released in due course.

There has been much speculation surrounding the ownership of the stallion, however, he is being sold by Tom Keenan (Keenan Corporate Finance) and James Neill (HNH Group) who hold joint ownership. This is due to their respective roles as trustee in bankruptcy over two separate bankruptcy estates — Sasha Stewart and her father Derek Harrison.

Uthopia will be sold alongside a selection of supercars, prestige jewellery, watches and designer goods.
