HAVING scored his only previous success a year ago at Ayr, it wasn’t too surprising to see Master Ruffit being brought back to the Scottish track on Monday by trainer Neil McKnight where the Blueprint gelding won the extended two and a half mile-novices’ handicap chase.

On his fourth start over fences and with Brian Hughes once again in the saddle, Norman McKnight’s charge beat the consistent if luckless Freddies Portrait, with the Gordon Elliott-trained favourite, Holeinthewall Bar, back in third spot.
