LOCAL trainer Eoin Doyle’s horses have been running well all summer and the South East Racing Club’s St Lawrence Gap played his part by winning the €20,000 Richard Power Private Client Betting Handicap Hurdle for the second year running at the opening session of the Tramore Festival.

Brian O’Connell’s mount improved into second behind Nicaragua racing into the dip and took it up before the final flight, going on to score by two and a half lengths from My Direction. Doyle said afterwards: “He’s a good tough horse and Brian said, if anything, he got there too soon.
