The filly Aurelia Cotta ensured a memorable few days for my family when she provided me with my first winner as a licensed trainer at Gowran Park last Wednesday evening, and then repeated that success only 24 hours later at Leopardstown. She is a very tough mare and reminds me of my godmother Margaret Nagle who was a detective in Limerick. She was a great woman who passed away in April and I firmly believe she was looking down on us. On both occasions Aurelia Cotta was ridden by my younger brother Denis, great value for his claim and apprenticed to Johnny Murtagh.
