JOHN Feane trains roughly 40 horses at his base at Hazelwood Stables, which is situated just across the road from the five-furlong start at the Curragh Racecourse.

Feane has enjoyed a solid season so far and although he acknowledges the competitive aspect of Irish racing, he thoroughly enjoys the challenge. “It isn’t easy to make an impact over here as the competition is very strong. Every race, every day, you have to take on some of the best trainers in the world and it is very satisfying when you get it right,” the trainer said.
