Trainer Joe Murphy is considering running Swamp Fox twice in the space of four days at next week's Galway Festival.

The five-year-old will head to Ballybrit at the top of his game following successive wins in valuable handicap hurdles at Ballinrobe and Killarney and he is a 14/1 shot with Paddy Power for the Galway Hurdle on Thursday week.

However, he could first revert to the flat in the Connacht Hotel Qualified Riders Handicap, the main event on the opening night on Monday.

Murphy told At The Races: "I thought putting him up 8lb (for winning at Killarney) was a little bit severe, but that's what we have and we have to deal with it. He's in good form and won well the last day.

"He's in the Galway Hurdle and we haven't made up our minds yet. He's in the two-mile flat race on the Monday night and he's also in the mile-and a half race on Friday night.

"The hurdle race looks tempting and we'll see how he is in the next couple of days and call it then.

"We had planned from a long way out that he would run both days (Monday and Thursday), but it all depends how he is.

"It's not down to what we'd like to do, he tries to tell us how he is."
