Verglas (by Highest Honor) added another stakes winner to his tally when Forevertheoptimist won the Listed Bank of New York Mellon Dragon Stakes over 5f at Sandown today.
The gelding is bred by Peter and Hugh McCutcheon, he is produced from a half-sister to the mile Grade 3 scorer Media Mogul (by First Trump) and he comes from the family of the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes winner Awzaan (by Alhaarth).
Verglas, whose progeny include the Group 1 scorers Silver Frost and Stormy River, stood at the Irish National Stud. He died in May.
