Lethal Force (by Dark Angel) has sprung a 25/1 surprise in the Group 2 Betfred Hungerford Stakes over 7f at Newbury, his first blacktype success.
The Clive Cox trained three-year-old, who has never finished out of the first four, was bred by Declan Johnson. He cost just €8,500 as a yearling, he is a half-brother to the multiple winner Army Of Stars (by Kyllachy), and his dam Land Army (by Desert Style) is a full-sister to the stakes winning sprinter Ascot Family. His dam's half-sister Flanders (by Common Grounds) is the pattern placed, stakes winning dam of the juvenile pattern scorer Louvain (by Sinndar).
