Pedro The Great (by Henrythenavigator) has won the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes over 6f at The Curragh, giving his sire a first top-level winner from his first crop.
The Aidan O'Brien trained juvenile was bred by Hascombe Stud. He cost 150,000gns from Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, and he is out of the Group 3 Prestige Stakes winner Glatisant (by Rainbow Quest). That makes him a half-brother to the unbeaten Group 1 2000 Guineas scorer Footstepsinthesand (by Giant's Causeway).
Henrythenavigator (by Kingmambo) stands at Ashford Stud in Kentucky.
