Great Heavens a new classic star for Galileo

Article Date: 22-July-2012

Great Heavens (by Galileo) has won the Group 1 Darley Irish Oaks over 12f at The Curragh, just one day after her dual Group 1 winning full-brother Nathaniel was beaten a nose in the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.

Lady Rothschild's homebred three-year-old is one of a remarkable total of eight individual stakes winners out of the Group 3 Musidora Stakes scorer Magnificient Style (by Silver Hawk), a mare who has now produced three Group 1 stars. The third is the juvenile Group 1 scorer Playful Act (by Sadler's Wells).

Galileo (by Sadler's Wells) stands at Coolmore Stud.
