The undefeated Camelot is one of seven horses who will face the starter in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh this Saturday, following Thursday's final declaration of runners for the big race.
Trainer Aidan O’Brien and his 19-year-old son Joseph will attempt to become the first father and son combination to win the Group 1 classic. O’Brien is also represented by Imperial Monarch ridden by last year’s winning jockey Colm O’Donoghue and Astrology the mount of Seamus Heffernan.
Camelot, the English 2000 Guineas and Derby winner, will face the Dermot Weld-trained Speaking of Which, Light Heavy trained by Jim Bolger and the John Oxx-trained pair of Born to Sea (Johnny Murtagh) and Akeed Mofeed (William Buick).
The first race on Derby day is 3.40pm with the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby off at 7.40pm followed by a live concert by Ronan Keating at 8pm.
The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby is the highlight of the three-day festival which commences on Friday evening.
