Death of Araafa

Araafa (by Mull Of Kintyre), winner of the Group 1 Irish 2000 Guineas and the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes in 2006, has died.

He was 9 years old and cause of death has been reported as being heart rupture. He had recently arrived at Woodlands Stud in Co Galway following five years at Plantation Stud in Newmarket.

Araafa was out of Resurgence (by Polar Falcon) who is an unraced full-sister to the Group 1 winning sprinter and major sire Pivotal. His oldest progeny are 4 and they include multiple winners such as Methayel, Neutrafa, Give Me Shelter and Biaraafa.
