Follow The Plan was a 50/1 Irish-trained winner of the Grade 1 Betfred Bowl at Aintree on Thursday.
The winner is trained in Rathcoole, Co Dublin by Oliver McKiernan and was ridden by Tom Doyle.
Course specialist Nacarat led for most of the way and was tracked by second favourite Burton Port, whose stable companion and favourite Riverside Theatre was pulled up at the halfway stage, never travelling well.
Follow The Plan crept into the race and shot clear from the final fence to beat Burton Port by three lengths. The improving novice Hunt Ball appeared not to stay the trip but still nosed out Medermit for third spot.
A nine-year-old by Accordion, Follow The Plan was winning his first race since springing a 20/1 shock win in the Punchestown Gold Cup last May.
