Aintree ground update (4.30pm Wed)

The official going at Aintree changed this afternoon (4pm, Wednesday, April 11) to:

Grand National Course - Good to Soft, soft in places (from Soft, good to soft in places)

GoingStick Reading 6.2.

Mildmay Course - Chase & Hurdle Tracks- Good to Soft (from Good to Soft, soft in places)

GoingStick Reading - Chase 6.5 & Hurdle 6.5

Andrew Tulloch, Clerk of the Course and Director Of Racing at Aintree Racecourse, explained: “We have had a second dry day in a row, having missed the showers so far, and the courses have dried again.

“I am really pleased with the ground ahead of the start of the John Smith’s Grand National meeting  tomorrow. It is drying but the next two days are forecast to be unsettled and we could have a heavy shower or two. Equally, we could again miss the rain.”
