St Nicholas Abbey's easy Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Turf

St Nicholas Abbey (by Montjeu) has run out an easy winner of the Grade 1 Emirates Airline Breeders' Cup Turf over 12f at Churchill Downs.

The four-year-old, who is trained by Aidan O'Brien, was ridden by 18-year-old Joseph O'Brien. He is produced from Leaping Water (by Sure Blade) and is a half-brother to the Grade 2 scorer Grammarian (by Definite Article). His dam is produced from the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Flamenco Wave (by Desert Wine) and so is a half-sister to the Group 1 winners Ballingarry (by Sadler's Wells), Aristotle (by Sadler's Wells) and Starborough (by Soviet Star). He is bred by Barton Bloodstock and Villiers Syndicate.

Montjeu (by Sadler's Wells) stands at Coolmore Stud.
