IRELAND’s Judy Reynolds looks likely to secure a place in the Grand Prix Special at the Rio 2016 Olympics, having scored 74.70% in the Grand Prix.

Reynolds and Vancouver K, known as home as J.P., lie eighth at the moment at Rio but there are more riders, including Britain's Carl Hester to come.

The Grand Prix acts as the first team and individual qualifier, from which the top six teams and 32 individual riders progress to Friday’s Grand Prix Special(Friday, August 12th, 2-8pm Irish time), where the team winners and 18 individual finalists will be determined.

The Grand Prix Freestyle Final(Monday, August 15th, 2-6pm Irish time) determines the individual medallists, based on their final displays, performed to music.

A clearly emotional Judy was cheered on by her husband Patrick and father Joe, chairman of Dressage Ireland, as she and J.P. left the arena on a long rein.
