THE death took place place at the Blackrock Clinic on Thursday of the renowned veterinary surgeon Ned Gowing. He was a partner in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital on the Curragh and one of the most respected equine practitioners in Ireland.

He will be reposing at his home on Sunday, October 4th from 4 to 7pm and his funeral mass on Monday will be at St Brigid’s Church, Curragh Camp at 11am, with burial afterwards in St Conleth’s Cemetery, Newbridge. Donations for St Brigid’s Hospice on the Curragh can be made in the church. He is survived by his wife Ann, children Kieran, Raymond, Jean and Aideen, brothers Thomas and John, sister Margaret and a large circle of family, friends and colleagues.
