Irish show jumping team manager Rodrigo Pessoa has named the Irish squad, sponsored by Devenish and The Underwriting Exchange, for the fifth round of the FEI Super League Nations Cup which takes place at Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on Friday, June 23rd.

Division 1 of the FEI Nations Cup series reached the halfway stage after the last round at St Gallen in Switzerland and the battle for league points on the road to qualification for the final in Barcelona now moves up a gear with just four rounds remaining.

Ireland lie in seventh place on 155 points, however Pessoa's team have only jumped at two of their points-scoring legs so far. The Irish have an opportunity to add to their points tally at all of the remaining four fixtures, including the upcoming show in Rotterdam.

The Irish squad for Rotterdam, in alphabetical order, is as follows:

Bertram Allen riding Hector Van d'Abdijhoeve - Owned by Noel Delahunty Connaught Bloodstock

Shane Breen riding Golden Hawk - Owned by P. Sultan & Breen Equestrian Ltd. & Shane Breen

Darragh Kenny riding Charley Chaplin S - Owned by Kerry Anne McCahill

Mark McAuley riding Utchan de Belheme - Owned by Monsieur Jocelyn Berthelot

Cian O'Connor riding Good Luck - Owned by Adena Springs & Ronnoco Jump Ltd

Speaking about the announcement, Pessoa said; "We are putting forward a very good team in Rotterdam and have high expectations. We are halfway through the Super League season, all events are now points scoring for Ireland and this is the first of four that we are really concentrating on."

Following Rotterdam, Ireland’s remaining Super League fixtures will be at Falsterbo (July 14th), Hickstead (July 28th), and Ireland’s home Nations Cup at the Dublin Horse Show (August 11th) where teams will compete for the Aga Khan trophy.
