  • Whiteout sprang a 16/1 surprise when beating her stable companion Limini by four and three-quarter lengths in the Grade 1 Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Mares Champion Hurdle over two and a quarter miles. The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old was bred by Gestut Karlshof, which is where her sire Samum (by Monsun) stands, and her siblings include the blacktype-placed gelding Wassiljew (by Zinaad). She is out of Wassiliki (by Night Shift) who is a half-sister to the dual Grade 1-winning hurdler Wild Passion (by Acatenango).
