IRELAND'S Jessica Kurten ended her recent drought of Grand Prix successes with a win at the three-star show in Odense, Denmark this evening (Sunday).

One of six to make it through to the jump-off from a starting field of 40, the Antrim-born rider saw local hero Andreas Schou and Allstar take the lead with a time of 35.70.

Riding VDL Stud's chestnut stallion Arezzo VDL, Kurten, who was last to go, managed to shave over a second off Schou's time, and took home the first prize of a Subaru XV, which she first drove around the arena in a series of exuberant handbrake turns.

At Wiener Neustadt in Austria, meanwhile, Ger Clarke made it a Grand Prix double for Ireland with a win in the two-star competition aboard the Irish Sport Horse Rafiki. Not alone in the top ten, Clarke was joined by 20 year-old fellow countryman Sven Hadley, who finished in seventh place with Quanbell.

At the World Cup show in Oslo, Norway, Mayo's Cameron Hanley racked up his first two points in the 2014/2015 World Cup Jumping series, which began this week. Hanley and Eleonore Paschoud and Yves Bouvier's bay stallion Antello Z finished in 15th place on a first round total of four faults, the best Irish performance of the class.
