WEXFORD’s Bertram Allen once again showed his class to win a host of classes at the three-star Eschweiler Masters in Germany last weekend, including the €67,100 Masters Tour Grand Prix on Sunday aboard GK Casper, where Irish riders dominated the line-up.

Allen got off to a flying start when winning Friday’s 1.45m Grand Prix qualifier aboard the Ballywalter Farm-owned nine-year-old GK Casper (Canto x Quantum). The combination produced the fastest clear round in 59.58 seconds to pick up €6,180. Co Tipperary’s Denis Lynch placed eighth with Retro III, picking up just one time fault.
