Horse Sport Ireland today announced the Irish team competing at Boekelo CCIO***, The Netherlands, this weekend.

In order of running, they are:

• Padraig McCarthy riding Simon Porloe (PZHK) 2000 bay gelding by Sofix out of Babilonia by Czubaryk. Owner: Christopher and Sarita Perkins

• Cathal Daniels riding Rioghan Rua, 2007 chesnut mare by Jack Of Diamonds (SWB) out of Highland Destiny (ISH), by Flagmount King (ID). Owner/Bred by Margaret Kinsella, Co. Galway.

• Joseph Murphy riding Westwinds Hercules (ISH) – 2005 bay gelding by Ramiro B (BWP) out of Westwinds Clover (ISH) by Porter Rhodes (TB). Breeder: Alice Keogh. Owner: Alison Schmutz and Andrew Tinkler.

• Jonty Evans riding Cooley Rorkes Drift (ISH) – 2006 gelding by Courage II (HOLST) out of Doon-A-Ree Lass (ISH), by Rachel Comet (TB). Breeder: William McCarrison, Co. Down. Owner: Fiona Elliott.

Speaking after the selection, Ireland’s High Performance Manager, Nick Turner said: "This will be Cathal Daniel’s first senior team debut with Rioghan Rua (ISH). Their three-star form has been very consistent throughout the season and as such merited his selection. The team has a dynamic mix of age and experience, I'm delighted to have a strong representation of 10 combinations from Ireland competing at Boekelo.
