HAVING spent most of my life working with horses, firstly as a jockey and later head lad, I recently re-trained and became an equine dentist. Equine dentistry has grown in popularity over the last 25 years, so much so, that dentistry is now viewed as an integral part of a horse’s care and management.

I started off riding ponies aged eight and progressed onto racing on the local circuit. My dad initially bought a pony for my sister but she didn’t like it, so my brother and I ended up with it instead. Over the next few years Dad added to the string and at one point we had six ponies.
