THERE were 34 starters in the EI90 class at Killossery Lodge Stud last Saturday but one very clear-cut winner in the Lee Maher-partnered Hunters Firefly, who completed on his dressage score of 19.3 penalties, with his nearest rival throughout, Rock Shenanigans (Lucy Hanna), some way adrift on 28.

To be fair, the winner is a 10-year-old who has been placed at EI100P level while the runner-up is just five, as is the fourth-placed Tullibards Smiling Lady (32) who had filled the same position at the young event horse qualifier in Scarteen the previous Wednesday. The 2012 pair were split the by the year older River Cottage Touch (31.3).
