GUINEAS weekend at the Curragh had it all. In one sense, Adrian Keatley’s victory with Jet Setting in the Irish 1000 Guineas on Sunday was similar to Prendergast’s in the colts’ Classic on Saturday in one way, but, in another, it couldn’t have been more different.

Both victories were hugely popular, both achieved against the (bookmakers’) odds, but, whereas Prendergast probably has more years behind him in his training career than in front of him, Keatley is only starting out on his. It could hardly be starting out better.
