FORMER World Champion Dermott Lennon from County Down won Sunday’s Alltech Grand Prix at the three-star Royal Windsor horse show in England aboard Judith Sossick's Irish Sport Horse Loughview Lou Lou.

A tightly-fought competition saw only four go through to the jump-off from a starting field of 28, but Lennon was just under two seconds faster than his nearest challenger, Robert Whitaker and Catwalk IV when the clock stopped.

The Banbridge-born rider picked up €13,000 euro along with the The Kingdom of Bahrain Trophy, while Whitaker settled for the runner-up prize of €10,400 euro.

Loughview Lou-Lou (ISH)is a 13-yar-old bay mare by Limmerick (HOLST) out of Loughview Diamond Lucy (ISH), by Jack Of Diamonds (ID)owned and bred by Judith Sossick from Co Armagh.

Don’t miss The Irish Field this weekend, online from 9.30pm and in shops Saturday, for a full round-up of action from Windsor.
