HAVING knocked at the door all weekend, fortune finally favoured Sweden’s Ludwig Svennerstal in the CIC2*. Teaming up with the classy seven-year-old Box Leo, the English-based rider improved on his initial fourth placing to triumph over Sam Watson (Tullabeg Flamenco) and the British pairing of Chuffy Clarke and Willem III.

Highly rated, the precocious Box Leo (by Jaguar Mail) ticks every box for Svennerstal, who stated afterwards: “He is home-bred, he is easy, moves and jumps well. He has come out even better this year, and I think he will be a very good prospect for Le Lion d ‘Angers in the autumn.”
