Minding is likely to star in a strong four-year-old team for Aidan O'Brien next year.

The brilliant filly finished her Classic year with victory against the colts in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot, recording what was the seventh Group 1 success of her career.

Other highlights this season have been achieved in the Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Investec Oaks at Epsom.

O'Brien said: "I think that's the plan (stay in training), I think that's what the lads are thinking of at the moment. Nothing is written in stone, but she would be one to look forward to."

Idaho was third in the Derby at Epsom and second in the Irish equivalent, before winning the Great St Voltigeur at York and going off the hot favourite for the Ladbrokes St Leger.

It all went awry at Doncaster, however, as he unseated Seamie Heffernan and was last seen finishing fifth to Erupt in the Canadian International.

O'Brien said: "It didn't really work in Canada. We're looking forward to him next year. We think he's something to look forward to as a four-year-old."

Joining Idaho in the big middle-distance events will be Derby runner-up US Army Ranger. He was forced to miss the Curragh version and, after a break, was without a win in three starts.

But O'Brien has not lost the faith and told At The Races: "He will stay in training, we rushed him a little bit for the Derby."

"He had a break and none of his races really worked, but we were very happy with him on his last run (eighth in the Champion Stakes). He didn't get the run of the race and we felt he would have been right there. We think he's going to be a four-year-old to look forward to as well."
