Lucky Lion (by High Chaparral), the Group 2 Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen (German 2000 Guineas) scorer who lost his unbeaten record for the season when chasing home Sea The Moon in the Group 1 Deutsches Derby three weeks ago, beat Noble Mission on Sunday to take the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayer-Preis - Bayerisches Zuchtrennen over 1m2f at Munich.

The three-year-old is trained by Andreas Lowe, he is bred by Stall Parthenaue, and he was one of two blacktype winners for the stallion in Europe today. The James Fanshawe trained High Jinx (by High Chaparral) won a Listed contest at Maisons-Laffitte.

Lucky Lion is the first foal out of the 7f stakes winner Lips Arrow (by Big Shuffle), who is a half-sister to the mile Group 2 classic winner Lips Poison (by Mamool). His grandam Lips Plane (by Ashkalani) is a patten placed half-sister to the dual pattern scorer Beacon Lodge (by Clodovil) and to the Listed winner Sugarhoneybaby (by Docksider).

High Chaparral (by Sadler's Wells) is a Coolmore Stud stallion.
